Titanic – the musical on the Lake Thun Stage

When we hear the word Titanic, we automatically tend to think of director James Cameron’s film of 1997. But a musical that was written independently of the film had already had its premiere on New York’s Broadway six months earlier.
In their version, the composer Maury Yeston and the writer Peter Stone provide a completely different insight into the numerous fates on board the legendary ocean steamer. They were awarded five Tony Awards for their work, including those of Best Musical, Best Music and Best Libretto. In Thun, the successful musical will be premiered in Switzerland in a version adapted to the Thunerseespiele exactly one hundred years after the liner sank.Arrival by public transport
The thunerSeespiele and the BLS recommend that you travel there by public transport. There will be shuttle buses between Thun Railway Station and the stage area (STI Bus Line 1 to Strandbad; the bus transfer is included in the admission ticket), followed by about 10 minutes’ walk to the stage area (accessible by wheelchair).
