The Old Town of Bern
UNESCO World Heritage as a city experience
Discover the Old Town of Bern on foot and learn more about its 800-year history. On the guided stroll around the Old Town of Bern – a UNESCO world heritage site – you can marvel at numerous attractions: the late Gothic cathedral, for example, with its magnificent portal and depiction of the “Day of Judgement”. The clock tower (Zytglogge), the oldest city gate dating back to the 13th century, features an hourly show of clockwork figures. At the end of your stroll you will reach the arcades, the longest covered shopping promenade in Europe, which stretches over six kilometres.
