The Emmental

Emmental-Entlebuch mountain trail

From the steep Emmental valleys to the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch

A steadily upward winding route leads you to the Napfbergland border trail through woods and Alpine pastures, on narrow yet easily negotiable paths. After crossing the cantonal border and joining the mountain trail, you leave the hills and dales of the Emmental and enter the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch. A further short climb from Fontanne to Obstaldenegg brings the reward of a splendid view of the Bernese and Central Swiss Alps.
