Lötschental/Lauchernalp

No other Valais skiing region is closer

For those in the German-speaking area of Switzerland, the Lauchernalp is still the most easily accessible winter sports area in the Valais sun. For example, you can get from Bern to the skiing area in around 90 minutes thanks to direct trains with an stop in Münsingen. The Gletscherbahn cable car brings you to an altitude of 3111 metres where you will find perfectly prepared pistes from December to April. The Lauchernalp slopes have long ceased to be an insider secret and gladden the heart of many a freerider. The awesome panorama over more than 40 four-thousand metre peaks is easily accessible for non-skiers, too.
